Cheng JIN
Contemporary artist, director of the China Artists Association, deputy director of the Animation Art Committee, and deputy director of the National College Animation and Digital Media Professional Teaching Instruction Committee of the Ministry of Education. He founded "Manyou" magazine in 1997, founded the China Animation & Comic Competition Golden Drago in 2004, launched the "China Illustration Annual Competion (CIAC)" in 2022, and founded the JC Cartoon art Museum, Guangdong Contemporary Academy of Art, JC International comic & Animation Art Gallery, He has served as a judge for the third (2019) and fourth (2024) China Art Awards.
He made his debut in 1983 with the publication of "Ming Girl" in the comic strip. In recent years, his "Minimalist Girl" series has been exhibited in France, Spain, Belgium, Japan and other places. He is the official certified designer of the Italian brand Lamborghini.
The new series Qing Hua Miao (Blue and White Cat), employing minimalist ink-wash techniques and deliberate use of negative space, portrays surreal encounters between human figures and felines, garnering widespread acclaim.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Chairman of the Guangdong Cartoonists Association, and President of the Guangdong Contemporary Art Centre.
